Kissing In the Rain
He didn't know when he left his warm house or how far he walked in the cold rain. All he could do was stare at the house in front of him, the house of Janet Fraiser. His heart was pounding wildly in his chest as the rain continued to fall.
For the past year or so his feelings for the good doctor have changed from general admiration to love. His dreams had become full of vivid emotions as if he had never loved before. The walls of his heart had been cleaned white and painted with her name.
Before he even knew it, he felt a hand on his arm, "Daniel, why are you standing in the rain?" Janet asked gently as he broke away from his thoughts.
"I uh...I was going to knock on the door but I got lost in thought." Daniel said as he looked down. The rain was soaking them both.
"Why don't we go inside?" Janets asked as she shivered lightly. Daniel pulled her to him for warmth.
"No, I want to do this here...in the rain..." Daniel said softly as he pulled back to look into her eyes. Janet returned the gaze with a smile.
"Do what?" Janet asked as she saw the blush rise in Daniel's cheeks. Daniel took a breath and leaned closer.
"Daniel..." Her voice was a whisper as his lips hovered just above hers.
"Janet..." His voice a whisper as well as he brushed his lips against Janets.
Janet wrapped her arms around Daniel as they kissed. The rain fell on them but they didn't care. Their love warmed them both as they broke for air.
"I love you so much Janet." Daniel said softly as he held Janet to him, his cheek pressed against her forehead.
"I love you too Daniel." Janet said as slid her hands up Daniels arms.
The rain soon stopped and the sun shone down on them. Even a small rainbow formed over head. Janet smiled at Daniel as Daniel returned the smile. They took each others hands and walked inside the house.
